Does your business need a website? Are you puzzled about where to start? This class is a high-level introduction to the technologies and tools for building websites. No existing tech skills are necessary. We’ll start a brief explanation of how the web works, and then explore various WYSIWYG (“what you see is what you get”) tools for building websites. We’ll also talk about how to seek out skilled professionals when you’re in over your head. After this class you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to get a website up and running, and the resources to get help when you need it.
Lise Fracalossi has been working with tech since the dawn of the web. For the past ten years she served as a front-end engineer at a major tech publisher, developing their portfolio of sites and products, but recently left that job to pursue a new career adventure. She’s a tenacious problem solver with expert HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills. When she’s not to her elbows in code, she reads and writes fantasy novels, plays games of various sorts, and photographs plants. She lives with her husband and stable of cats.
Classes are sponsored by the Small Business Association.
